What name should we give to the reclamation site?

At a recent public meeting it was suggested that instead of calling the site of the reclamation “the Douglas Creek Estates” or even using another English word to refer to “the site,” that we rename it in one of our own languages. Since the site is now basically bare of any vegetation and the creek has been channeled into a concrete bed, our nomination for a new Kanyen'keha ("Mohawk") name is based on the lone tree (a hickory) growing on the site near the Onondaga Silver Pines camp on 6th Line. We propose that the site be known now as Tsyonennohkarà:ke (the place of the single hickory tree). What's your suggestion?

5 - Norm, with my heart, I forgive you for your ignorance. I hope one day you will be educated and know the truth, I hope you have better days ahead and not hold so much anger, as anger seathing within only causes more pain. Take care of yourself Norm

As far as a name, something like "where the people stand together" or "where the strength gathers" (Comment this)

6 - I disagree with "the place of the white man's shame" as a suggestion. For one, I think you want to use a positive name that reflects the strength of your character and convictions, not a name rooted in hate. Also, there are white people who support you; the problems in Caledonia are the result of systemic prejudice that are based in economics and the capitalist system, as well as racism.

I love the idea of 'where the strengths gather' or something along those lines. I also think the concept of 'justice' should be included in the name - maybe 'where righteous strenght gathers' (Comment this)
